Old single door with sidelights out. New double door in — same rough opening, same arched transom above. Cleaner lines, more presence, and a front entry that matches the scale of this sweet home.

Most people think you need a full reno to change your front entry layout. But here’s a good example of what you can do by simply rethinking the space — and working with what’s already there.

In this case, we went from a single door with sidelights to a double door. Same rough opening. Same arched transom window above — we didn’t touch that.

The original setup had a narrow door flanked by sidelights. It worked, but it made the entrance feel static. From inside, the door looked small against the tall ceiling and curved transom.

We replaced the whole unit with a custom double door system. No extra height added, no major framing — just cleaner symmetry and better use of the width.

What really made this one stand out was the geometric wrought iron glass. All those sharp lines play off the soft arch above — makes the curve feel like part of the design, not a leftover detail.
